Kenneth joined California Youth Connection in 1989 as a member. Kenneth was inspired by the idea that the youth could be so influential and he could make changes that would benefit his sister that was still in foster care. After becoming familiar with the organization Kenneth applied to become an Youth Organizer. During this time he sat on several commissions, workgroups, and panel’s to assure that the youth’s voice was heard through out the county. In 1996 he had the opportunity to become an Outreach Coordinator, where he could assist chapter with chapter dynamics and build strong stable relationship. In 1997 Kenneth add to his skill by becoming a certified mediator, and have be able apply those skills in the chapter meeting but it’s been most useful leading the members through the peer committee process at the conference’s.
