California Youth Connection - Our Voices, Our Future

Chapters

Yolo

Welcome!

Yolo County was recently accepted as a chapter into California Youth Connection (CYC) during the summer of 2011.  Currently, Yolo County CYC is comprised of several adult supporters and numerous foster youth, a majority of whom are students at the University of California, Davis.  As we begin to establish a strong foundation for our chapter, we expect to attract not only new members, but also current and former foster youth to become involved with our organization and its mission.  Our chapter’s mission is to produce leaders that will establish and implement programs that aid current and former foster youth. We aim to encourage and support foster youth to: excel in academics, enroll and complete vocational training programs, and job training. Our chapter aims to foster a sense of community that will empower youth to help themselves and each other reach success.

Can’t do CYC?... join AEFY!

Aggies Empowering Foster Youth (AEFY) is a campus organization started by CYC’s members that serves as a support group for CYC and its purpose.  AEFY’s members are students, staff, faculty, and other community members that are willing to support CYC in accomplishing their mission.  AEFY is currently working on establishing connections within the county in order to help CYC in accomplishing their local issue.  We hope to raise awareness regarding foster youth and the difficulties they may face as well as empower them through our support.
